Ms. Yao

Xueyi Yao is from Shenzhen, China. She received her Bachelor’s in Performing Arts in Ballet at Beijing Dance Academy in 2016. She also performed as a ballerina at National Ballet of China from 2015 to 2016. Her journey to the U.S. started early when she was undergraduate when she studied in Conservatory of Music of University of Cincinnati in 2013 as an international exchange student. After 6 years of teaching and improving herself in the US, Ms. Yao is certified by American Ballet Theater National Training Curriculum and currently choreographs and teaches at Etoile Dance Academy in Houston.

Teaching

Ms. Yao’s vast experiences in performances and dedication to advancing the dance art with her students brings various achievements and honors to her students and herself. Recently Ms. Yao’s student has been awarded 1st place at Youth America Grand Prix Austin 2025, 2nd place at Youth America Grand Prix Boca Raton 2024, 3rd place at Youth America Grand Prix Houston 2024, Top 12 at Youth America Grand Prix Houston 2023. In addition, her small ensemble which she choreographed has been awarded 1st place at Universal Ballet Competition Grand Prix 2022, 2023 and 2024.
